I've recently read that America has wasted about $60 billion in the war against Iraq and Afghanistan. More than 10% of this money was lost to fraud. I personally think that this is ridiculous. If America can afford to waste billions of dollars on international affairs, why aren't we able to afford our future? Our youths' education should be at the top of Americas priority list. I understand that protecting The United States is immensely important, however the total well-being of our country lies within the people. Our schools shouldn't have to settle for irrelevant information in older school books while our country relentlessly waste $60 billion outside of our country. I've had many teachers tell me that we wouldn't be receiving text books this year because the school system simply couldn't afford them. Wow, never in my short life have i ever thought that our economy would come to this. I strongly believe that the importance of education shouldn't be undermined or put on a budget. Should America's Future Have a Budget ?
